TIMETABLE for re-opening Hebden Bridge Town Hall - UPDATE 280720

On the 6th July we posted our plans for re-opening the Town Hall: to our friends and members, on our website and our doors and via our social media channels.

The staff have worked incredibly hard over the past few weeks to complete everything we set out to do to make the Town Hall a safe space for everyone to visit once again, so I'm delighted to confirm that we are ready to open on Wednesday 29th July at 8.30am as planned.

We wanted to share what we are doing to make this a safe space. We have 6 key messages:

  • Face coverings are encouraged and preferred
  • Please sign in at reception or at the Café (to help us support NHS Test and Trace)
  • Please wash your hands & make regular use of the hand sanitisers
  • Please observe social distancing
  • Our toilets are prioritised for café users, tenants and their clients and room hirers
  • Going upstairs? Take the lift up and the stairs down (where possible) to encourage one-way flow

When you visit you will also find more specific information about our Cafe and the toilets as well as guidance for building users.

As we said back on the 6th July the Town Hall is a complex site which supports multiple functions. This adds to the complexity of the re-opening process. We have done what we think works for this place and for the community in which we operate: we hope you agree.

We would also like to remind everyone that some of our staff and our volunteers haven't worked on site since the building closed on 21st March and that everyone is getting used to new patterns of working: please be patient.

Our current timetable for re-opening is initially on a reduced hours basis:

  • Weds 29th July to Fri 31st July inclusive we will be open 8.30am to 4pm (Café closing at 3pm every day), and
  • Weds 5th Aug to Fri 7th Aug inclusive we will again open 8.30am to 4pm (Café again closing at 3pm every day)

We’ll announce plans for 8th August onwards asap

On these days and between these hours we can take room bookings but we are limiting our room bookings to a maximum of 6ppl at any one time. More information about room bookings is available on our website here:

We also wanted to remind you about our business lounge - which has always been aimed at those who are struggling to work from home - more information about our business packages is here:
http://hebdenbridgetownhall.org.uk/business-packages

We are allocating more space to our Business Associates offer so we can help more people.

You can also ring us on 01422 417300 for more information on either.

In future blog posts we'll update on opening plans beyond 8th August.
